Why gitlab, SourceForge instead GitHub? SF vs GL vs GH!

Why SourceForge instead of GitHub?

The answer is actually quite simple, the only reason, GitHub doesn't offer dinamic php+mysql web hosting, neither a place to upload large packages (just a master package) and then provide statistics on those files. SourceForge does provide dinamic web hosting and even breaks it down on a daily, weekly, monthly, annually, and all time statistics. Of course, too complex, heavy and get many workload on client side on browsers, but provide it and with a lot of space!!!.

Why GitLab instead GitHub?

Gitlab offers same services from github PLUS private repositories complety free of charge, also BUILDERS for containers. Take in consideration that Github rules permit to erase your data! Gitlab permit any kind of data.
Github does not offer some avanced integration testing and analising tools, lest see, github offers integrations with Jenkis, but need extra steps, also integration with dinamic pages but again need extra steps and authentications.

Why GitHub instead SourceForge?

A poor but easy reason, EASY TO USE! GITHUB ITS SIMPLE AND FASTER, a guindoser like reason of course: easy to use and lightweight interface, not much usefully but great for little projects.
Github its extremely easy to use, easy to understand, easy to navigate, no complications and the web interface load MUCH MORE FASTER rather than SF! so for any quick and fast develop, github or gitlab make the deal!

Conclusion? First Gitlab, then Github, then sourceforge.

For mayor projects that need heavywheith features with stitcs and great control: SF,
For little and short time things, Github for novices.
time statistics. Of course, too complex, heavy and get many workload on client side on browsers, but provide it and with a lot of space!!!.

Gitlab its the github with steroids! have easy to use level, easy to understand interface, easy to navigate, and have almost all the sourceforge features that gitlab does not!

  • organize with real project hierarqui, github does not and sourceforge not provides
  • easy issue interface with simple way to manange
  • permits private projects, gitlab dont neither sourceforge!
  • the only problem, the gitlab web hosting its a pain!

Sourceforge provides webhosting with php, mysql and cgi support, event github/gitlab static pages!!!!.
