YouTube-DL , has been removed from GitHub for the time being following an RIAA threat , as noted by Parker Higgins of the Freedom of the Press Foundation today. What evidence that Microsoft is a shit that contributes and here you will read why! Becouse there are many devices that also violate the law section 1201 like a webcam that records a movie , should this webcam be sanctioned? Stupid .. they just want to fuck free software! Well anyway! It was just software from the stupid python language .. since it can run on windos !!! how silly these windowsers .. they are victims of the same platform gentlemen of M$!
We recall in early the 2000s , countless warnings of the DMCA that read "web hosting your site this or that protected content, delete" but now no notice was send! .. but just grotesque action !!! .
It's because YouTube -DL violates Section 1201 of the US copyright law , which basically bans things that bypass DRM. "No one may evade a technological measure that effectively controls access to a work protected under this title."
Wouldn't using an audio and screen capture utility accomplish the same? What about a camcorder? Or for that matter, a cassette recorder? All are used to “circumvent” the DRM placed on Tay's video by creating an offline copy without permission from the rights holder.
Temporarily removing YouTube-DL code from GitHub is a sponsored by Microsoft (yes .. Github is M$ you knowit?) myopic reaction to an issue that can be nothing more than a rounding error in the scheme of things. They are likely to lose more money to people who share logins . This or something very similar will be back soon, a little smarter and a little better, which will make the RIAA's job that much more difficult and the cycle will repeat itself.
