The false minimalist and the stupid thinking of developers

The false minimalist from stupid geeks: dunst looks minimal but has more bloab dependencies rather than gtk notification daemon..

Nowadays we have a lot of Linux distributions that call themselves fast because they are minimal. This is a deception, since the trick (especially Alpine Linux) is that they use reduced versions of some (not all) of the programs to give some speed.

In the photo we see the dunts dependencies which are 16 and which bring many more... while the reliable notification-daemon only has 12 and many of the same as those of dunst which exemplifies a great stupidity.

OK! But was from an ancient era, in the beginning it was more light?

NO, No, looking at the dependencies in Debian Jessie and Wheeze from more than 10 years ago we see that it is even worse, where Dunst is much more bloated than the old and older one and the one that was always used was notification-daemon inherited from Gnome.

CONCLUSION

If you are a developer and you are making excuses with minimalism, stop that nonsense, you are in the way putting obstacules! One thing is a very slow distro like the ones based on RPM, another is gaining speed with false expectations.

How they achieved speed, in two ways: In alpine for example using cut or reduced versions, which do not have required functionalities (example busybox). In arch using compilation and static linking, each package has "almost everything" included but although it gives speed it makes it unstable.
